Almost everyone has at least one friend. A friend that we go play with, have sleep overs with, go trick-or-treating with, share our day with. A friend that we play the game with, smoke with, drink with, watch porn with. A friend that we play a sport with, do homework with, study with, cheat on a test with.  This friend can do all of these things with us, some, or maybe just one. Most of the time when people describe what they want in a friend certain adjectives are always used. Loyal.Funny.Fun. "Real". Honest.
But HONESTLY, people don't want honest friends.They want a "friend" that tells them what they want to hear. They don't want to hear that they are sleeping around. They don't want to hear that their new hair cut or style is ugly. They don't want to hear that their jokes are not funny. They don't want to hear anything negative because alot of people think that THAT is what a friend is.
And it's always amusing to me, how some people honestly think that a friend wouldn't say these need to be said things.Think about it. Now if these need to be said things can't be said, then don't consider this person your friend. Associate...yes.Friend...maybe not so much.
The word friend is used so commonly now, that most of the time, it's used in the wrong fashion. "oh yeah, i just met him yesterday, he's in my class, he's my friend".no he's not. He's your classmate. A friend will want the best for you. A friend will tell you the truth. A friend will tell you the truth in whatever way you can handle it best. Blunt<-----or------>sugar coated. A friend will know how you can handle it best.
As kids we think that the more friends you have, the better you are, the happier you'll be. I mean shoot...isn't that why so many people add so many people on myspace, facebook, twitter? Yet as I have accumulated into the adult world, my circle of friends have shrunk. I am not everyone's friend & everyone is not my friend. You are not everyone's friend & everyone is not your friend.
